Explained to Max that I have had a 'hiccup' at about 3-4,000 revs under acceleration and it had been there since I bought my 944 in 2000. It was not a major problem and every mechanic who worked on the car put it down to age. Max suggested that if the 130,000 miles on it when I bought it were at motorway speeds it could be a worn spot on the airflow meter. Given age and mileage, I elected to take a recon unit and forgo the test. Problem solved immediately and throttle more responsive. Cannot thank him enough!
