The Porsche brake disc, also known as the brake rotor, is a key component of the overall Porsche braking system. The brake disc performance, condition, thickness and appearance are assessed as part of your annual vehicle inspection.
It is perfectly normal for the brake discs to wear and over time, their thickness will reduce. Vehicle braking performance reduces as the disc becomes thinner. Furthermore, as the disc gets thinner, it’s ability to manage it’s operating temperature also reduces. The hotter the disc becomes the greater the chance that the disc will become warped. Heavily worn, scored, pitted, corroded or warped discs will lead to unbalanced and inefficient braking and will make your Porsche unsafe to drive. The discs and rotors should be replaced immediately.
Our advice would be to regularly inspect your brake discs. At FrazerPart we only supply quality brake discs and rotors.
